Three services we'd like to highlight.

  • Oxford Nightline: Nightline is an independent confidential listening, support and information service run by students for students during term-time. It's open from 8pm-8am Monday to Sunday, 0th week to 9th week during Oxford University term time.
  • Student Minds: the UK's student mental health charity.
  • Samaritans: Whatever you're going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. You can contact Samaritans 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a very simple form of meditation. A typical meditation consists of focusing your full attention on your breath as it flows in and out of your body.

Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World provides a range of advice, recommendations and free meditations.

Perfectionism

Although having high standards and goals may help us achieve things in life, sometimes these standards get in the way of our happiness and can actually impair performance. This is the paradox of perfectionism.

The Centre for Clinical Interventions provides a range of resources which you may find helpful, covering perfectionism, procrastination and worrying.

Sleep

Recommended by the NHS, Sleepio is a six-week clinically proven programme used to treat insomnia, available free on the NHS.

Stress

If stress is affecting your life, the NHS provides information, advice and resources you may find helpful.
