Colleagues from the Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme have been nominated in several categories at this year’s Oxford Lifelong Learning Inspiring Excellence Awards, known as the OLLIEs.

Run by Oxford Lifelong Learning at the Department for Continuing Education, the OLLIEs recognise the contribution, commitment and excellence of colleagues across the Department and wider University community. The awards celebrate those whose work supports colleagues and students, reflects the Department’s values, and helps strengthen Oxford’s learning community. The Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme is delighted to see some of our colleagues and teams recognised across a range of categories this year:

• Transformation in Education Astrophoria Foundation Year and Eleanor Baker, Subject Lead for English, Foundation Year in Humanities
• Inclusive Leadership Jo Begbie, Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme Director and  
• Team of the Year PPE Team, Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme
• Colleague of the Year Caitriona Woolhouse, Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme Manager
• Student Experience Michael Lyons, Preparation for Undergraduate Studies tutor
• Academic Excellence Anna Williams, Course Lead, Foundation Year in Law
• People’s Choice Catherine Purtell, Course Lead, Preparation for Undergraduate Studies and AFY Welfare Lead

The nominations reflect the breadth of work taking place across the programme, from teaching and academic leadership to student support, programme development, inclusive practice and the day-to-day collaboration that makes the programme possible.

All nominees will be invited to the OLLIE Awards Presentation, which will take place on Tuesday 23rd June at Rewley House.
